Happy Haunting by Graphic 45 - Winners announced!!

Happy Halloween!
October 31st 2012
All month long we have featured a wonderful collection of paper by Graphic 45.
Happy Haunting Collection
This is the first time since the start of The Hens' Den that we took on the challenge of featuring one line of paper. Each of the Design Team members rocked their designs. They each had a different style and way of looking at this amazing paper line.   It was so awesome to see some of the projects not even look "Halloweenie".   The versatility of the paper line is amazing.   Every one of DT members kept their projects a secert so as not to "stimulate" others projects and the sneak peaks were as much of a tease to us as they were the our fans.   We had such a great time.

So.... We had so much fun, we are giving away a complete collection of Happy Haunting to one lucky person.  It was really hard to keep this collection together because is was so popular, it sold out when we were at the Scrapbook Expo in Portland Oregon mid October.

Congratulations!!!!!!!

Grand Prize
In the beginning of the month, we featured a chest that we are giving away to one lucky person. Along the way, one part of the chest has a horrible accident, a big spider came along and scared the crow away.  (actually, the crow fell off)  But I like the idea of a big spider scaring the crow off.  LOL!
(Hopefully the winner will not be to dis-appointed)
So many of you commented all month long and it was so much fun reading all of them.  I wish we had lots of gifts to give away but we only have the one chest.
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
Katina Hronas, you are our winner!!!

Thank you all so much for your love, comments and friendship.  We look forward to hearing more from you in the future and we so appreciate each and every one of you!

Happy Haunting's mini book By Guest Designer: Sesil Cratin

Happy Hauntings
By: Sesil Cratin
(www.sesilcratin.com)

Halloween is my favorite time of the year.  I loved playing with the Graphic 45 Happy Haunting Collection for this mini album. I altered the 8x8 Easel Album to create a standard album.  I love all the interactive pages I created for this mini.  It is so much fun working with this collection.  This is what I created.

When I altered the album I knew that the album would have a hard time staying closed.  So I cut the bottom of the easel and added ribbon to help keep the album closed.

To create the album I did paint the entire album black to make the paper collection pop.

For the cover I fussy cut 3 of the same picture and different parts to layer them together to create my own 3D embellishment.  This is a great way to get more for your buck by creating your own paper embellishments.

For the first two pages I wanted to leave room for pictures and journaling. On the right hand page the long strip opens up and allows me to have more room to journal.  I used glossy accents throughout the album to give some of the pictures that dimensional look.

These are some pages that I created as flaps.  Giving more room for pictures and journaling.  I simply cut the page in half and added it to the previous page with washi tape. I did cut off the holes for the binding on the cut pages so they would give the illusion that the pages were made like that for the album.   I loved making the flaps and perfect for the little details.

I love making my own pockets and tags.  Here I used the  hills as a pocket for the tags.  It was an easy way to give more depth to the page.
On theses pages I wanted to keep one of the pages more simple. So I just added the pennants on the corner of the page.  On the other side I created a  band to hold the tag on the page.  This is another great alternative for pockets.  It allows you to add more memorabilia or journaling.

Here I have more pocket pages and flap  pages.  I just love using ribbon and border stickers.  Such a fun and easy way to jazz up the pages.

A detail shot of the right page with the flaps.

Then my final pages.
I had so much fun creating this mini.  Please feel free to ask me any questions on how I created this mini.  More sure to shop at The Hen's Den for all your scrapbooking needs.  They are the best!!  Thank you for letting me share my creations with you.

Ghosting Goodness with Moriah using Graphic 45 Happy Haunting

Ghosting Goodness
Designed by: Moriah Macdonald (fuzzyslippersdesigns.blogspot.com)
Featuring: Graphic 45-Happy Haunting

Supplies:
Paper- Hallowe'en Greetings, (Graphic 45), Black, Burnt Orange (Bazzill)
Dies- Frame (My Favorite Things)
Ribbon- Cream Twill, Satin Bat (May Arts)
Flowers- Darjeeling Hydrangea (Petaloo)
Adhesive- ZipDry, foam tape

Our neighborhood has really gotten into "ghosting" the last couple of years.  Usually I am scrambling to get a ghosting goodie bag together- but not this year!  This year I put together a cutie-patootie bag using Graphic 45's yummy papers. :)

I kept staring at the cards on the Hallowe'en Greetings paper and had the hardest time deciding which one to use!  Real quick though here's the nitty gritty for making the bag...

To make the bag you will need 1 piece of black paper cut 6" x 12".  On the 6" side score at 1" and 6", then score the 12" side at 1", 5 1/2", 6 1/2", & 11".  Form into a box with an opening at the top.  For the bag handles, cut 2 pieces of twill about 4" each and affix (I used score tape) to insides (about 1/2" for each edge). Trim owl card from Hallowe'en Greetings paper.  Die cut two frames from the orange Bazzill and glue to back of owl card and then affix to bag front.  Add flowers and bat to bling up the bag. :)

For the goodies I used bits 'n pieces from my scrap pile to give the treats a little more pop! :)  Are YOU ready for Halloween yet? :D
