Unforgettable Bundle with MME Goodies

My Minds Eye- Collectable- Unforgettable
Bundle of Love Card
 Designed by Moriah Macdonald
Happy Friday Peeps!  Thought I would share an uber adorable baby card with y'all today.  So pull up a chair and a cuppa (we're doing iced ANYTHING in my neck of the woods 'cause it's going to be like 95-humid-degrees for the next few days!!!).

How super colorful and super cute is this?!? There just something so fun about mixing patterns with lots of bright pinks and yellows that makes me smile.  Come on, you're smiling right now aren't you? ;)  Hope so, that's my goal today!

We've got lots of babies in the future.  Two friends are having grandbabies, one coworker is on her last week before her baby is due, and our new next door neighbors are expecting their first very soon!  It's a good thing I like this card- I'm gonna be making a bunch!!!  Luckily, the 6x6 pad has plenty of sheets to work with in the scaled down patterns that look soooo cute on baby cards. :)

Goodies used to make this bundle so smile inducing:
My Minds Eye- Collectable- Unforgettable-Stickers
My Minds Eye- Collectable- Unforgettable- Buttons
My Minds Eye- Collectable- Unforgettable- Journal Paper
My Minds Eye- Collectable- Unforgettable- Story 6x6 Pad
The bling I used got sold out at the last big sale but I think this or this might work too! :)

Speaking of sale- I just picked up this at an AWESOME deal.  Check it out before its G-O-N-E!!!

Mom

Simple Stories 24 Seven Mom Layout
Some photos just seem to grab you and you just know that you need to do something with them.  This is a dear friend of mine with her mother at a recent girls weekend on Cape Cod which they do every year.  I have had so much fun creating with this Simple Stories 24 Seven line and this is my third project this month.  If you haven't purchased it yet, you need to hop on over to The Hens' Den and get yours before it is gone.

There are so many amazing elements in this set and the gorgeous colors and quality that you expect from Simple Stories.  This photo just makes me so happy as you can plainly see the love Anne has for her dear mother.

"British Dapper Dan" using KaiserCraft 75 cents collection

KaiserCraft 75 cents collection
"British Dapper Dan" 12 x 12 layout
Can you believe it?  May is almost over and we will begin the 6th month of 2013 in just a few days.  Me either.  Another thing that is shocking is the fact that I made 3 scrapbook layouts this month :)  I have really enjoyed getting back to creating layouts and am excited to keep it up; I am hoping to start Project Life here soon so I can try to get caught a little quicker - I have heard some great things about it.
This was another fun layout to create because the story behind was too precious not to scrapbook it.  I was talking with a friend who has been watching Patrick grow from overseas the past few years (Karen lives in the UK and I do believe she is his inspiration on speaking with a British accent - we are determined to see her one day) and she told me that I needed to scrapbook this moment, so I did.
I also used washi tape for the first time and ran out of room on my journal section, so I placed the date on the washi tape (I will be using that stuff more in the coming days.  Here is what I wrote to tell about this page, "Patrick has always enjoyed talking in different accents and has mastered his British.  The kids at school dared Patrick to come as a "British Dapper Dan" and he met the challenge."  He had so much fun at the dance and I can see him going into the dance talking British and everyone surprised that he actually did it (they still don't know him very well after all these years).  I really believe this kid could be great as an actor - notice the funny expression on the second photo (silly boy).   I also tried something new on the photo and really like how it turned out - it has been edited using the pencil sketch edit - really neat.
Here's a full picture of this fun layout and am excited about showing you more of my crazy and wonderful family coming soon.
I hope you enjoy the rest of your week.  It is starting to warm up here in SC and I am not looking forward to the heat, but am not going to complain because I am blessed we have different seasons here.  Please head over to The Hens Den and take a look at what Charlie offers in her awesome store.

Wonderful Tag by Nicolle Kramer using Prima Engraver Collection

Prima Engraver Collection
Wonderful Tag
Designed by: Nicolle Kramer

Hello Friends! Today on this Memorial Day I am sharing a quick project. I made a tag using the Engraver Collection. Below is a picture of all the goodies I created with this month.

I hope everyone is relaxing and spending time with their loved ones. Every year we have a barbecue with the immediate family. This year I will be remembering the veterans in my family. My dad and both grandfather's served in the Army and fought in the Vietnam, World War II and Korean wars. These men are my true Heroes. Last year after we made the hard decision of taking my dad of life support and as he lie in the hospital bed weak, I was lucky enough to thank him for everything he did for us through the years. I even had the chance to tell him he was my Hero. Although he was very week and couldn't speak he was able to nod and was very coherent. It was the hardest thing to do to watch your parent slowly die right in front of your eyes. I wish things could have been a little more humane. Even though they said they would keep him as comfortable as possible I just don't know if the morphine did that. The doctor's think part of the reason his heart was so damaged (he was 63) is because he was exposed to Agent Orange in the Vietnam war.  I am so thankful for all the men and women in uniform... past, present and future who keep this country free.

I layered a lot of different elements on this tag from the Engraver collection. It was the first time I have ever made a double bow.

Here's a close up of the center of the tag. I used chipboard elements, decorative frame and flowers in a cluster. I just loved working with the little metal frames.

I mist the canvas resist bird, fussy cut a flower from one of the papers and added chipboard elements to make leaves. I also added a bit of natural hemp for added interest.

Thanks for stopping by! You can find all these products in The Hen's Den store. Have a relaxing Holiday.

Good Times Treat Box

Good Times treat box
featuring Teresa Collins - Memories line
By Lori McClellan

We are nearing the end of the school year here.  I'm having mixed feelings.  It means that my kids will be home ALL DAY, and that my job working in the resource classroom will be ending.

I have had a great time this year, and I wanted to leave my co-workers with a special treat.

The Teresa Collins - Memories line has such beautiful soft colors, that it was perfect for a treat box.

I found these boxes at a local store.  They began as a simple craft color, but I pieced the different sections with this line of paper to add interest and make them pop.

I made a matching tag using some of the great embellishments that come with the Teresa Collins line, and tied my adorable treat box closed with some ribbon.

This line makes such an adorable and personal box.  I think my co-workers will know how much I am going to miss them.

Thanks for stopping by.  Don't forget to play along with the sketch contest.  Post your pictures on The Hens' Den facebook page soon.  You're almost out of time!

Fun Moments by Nicolle Kramer using Prima Marketing Engraver Collection

Prima Marketing Engraver Collection
Fun Moments Layout
Designed by: Nicolle Kramer

Today I am sharing my latest layout using Prima's Engraver Collection. Here's the kit I worked with this month.  Love all the neutral colors in this collection.

Well it's that time of year again. It's getting close to the end of the school year and my son is a senior this year. We are preparing for his prom and graduation. The end of the school year for the last couple years have been hectic and expensive. My children being so close in age proms and graduations are one after another. Below Bret went to get measured for his tux for the prom. we even bought him patent leather Chuck Taylor converse sneakers. It's sort of a tradition since we also bought them for my oldest when he went to prom. I had to get a shot of him with his Men's Warehouse bag. My daughter is also going to the prom I didn't want her to steal all the photo opportunities being only her Junior Prom.

My kids are my world and I enjoyed using this collection with the Atlas designs representing just that. I fussy cut part of the globe from one of the patterned papers. I kept the flow using many different circular elements and embellishements. To me the numbers could represent the grade he is in , or even his age. I just had to add the ticket because to me it  represents the price of the tuxedo or the prom ticket. It may sound kind of funny but a lot of thought goes into my projects.

Here's a few close ups of my clusters.

Many people are afraid to add flowers to a masculine layout. I don't feel a flower makes it any less masculine. It also adds to the circular elements on the page. I finished my layout with a few  black paint splats.

There's still time to play along with the Chic#2 sketch. We would love to see your take on it. Please share it with us at The Hen's Den facebook page.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope I inspired you to create something with this amazing collection. You can find all the materials at The Hen's Den store.

Have a good day!

Unforgettable Set

My Minds Eye- Collectable- Unforgettable
Unforgettable Card Set
 Designed by Moriah Macdonald

I am soooo crushing on this Unforgettable paper line from My Minds Eye!  It is so easy to play with and have everything love marvelous.  It was begging to be put to use for a card set.  Card sets were also on my mind because Teacher Appreciation Week was well underway when I was crafting this set.  Teachers can ALWAYS use more blank note cards. (Hint, hint- great year end gift for your kiddos teacher).

Voila!  Each card has a white base making for a crisp frame for the Graphic 45 cardstock.  Its an awesome two tone paper that is perfect for dry embossing & sanding- which I totally took advantage of here.   The Journal Paper was great for cutting down to create and added layer of pop for the chipboard focal points.

Now the sentiments of some of these cards are best suited to a BFF, your mom, or sister.  Don't let that stop you from using some of the other chipboard shapes to create a fab thank you set for your "fav teach".  Fast, easy, outstanding.  It's an "unforgettably" wonderful set that anyone would love to get from you!

Whatcha' think?  Are you ready to make something great with this line?  Make sure to leave us a comment or post it to our FB page.  We LOVE to see what you make with goodies you've gotten here at The Hen's Den!!!

The uber goodies used from the "Eeek-I-love-it" stash you'll want to get to make your own set:

Grunge Tag

Hi everyone!!!.  I spent time in the scrap room playing with tags and after many tries, I came up with this version.

I love how it turned out.  I played with some Claudine Helmuth Matte Medium, layered a dictionary page over it and "helped" it dry.  Then I used Tim Holtz Distress Inks to ad color.  Next came the Dylusions stamp and and and...then Wendy Vecchi  embossing paste to make the stenciled design.  After it dried, I inked it with Distress Stain - Walnut Stain and allowed it all to finish drying.

Next I added the big bling and the corners.   I think all it needs now is some ribbon on the top!!

OHHH, did I forget to tell you that we will very shortly have Dylusions inks and Wendy Vecchi Embossing pastes?  YES... they are ordered and will be in the store very shortly!!!

Thank you for stopping by!!

I am on a roll.  Adding  new tag that I made using old jewelry.  Not sure if it is ok, really.  Just put it together and this is what ended up with.

Oh Baby!!

I just adore this Simple Stories 24/Seven line.  The Sn@p pages are just so much fun to work with and so easy to work into an album.  You should definitely check them out in the Hens' Den Store and get some before they are gone.  I missed my darling daughter while she was away at Georgia Institute of  Technology studying engineering for her freshman year.  One reason that I love scrapbooking is that I am able to live through these wonderful times with her growing up as I created each page.
She was so sweet and so adorable growing up and as my children have gotten older I have wished that I had held onto those sweet times a little more closely.  These are some of my favorite photos which are now all in a lovely book that I can flip through when I am missing her.
Now I will have to make one for Sean, may be for my next project, lol.

"Goofy" Love using KaiserCraft 75 Cents

KaiserCraft 75 Cents
... of "GOOFY" love 12 x 12 layout
Chic Sketch #2 by Lori McClellan
Created by Janet G. Bagnall
This month brings us a new sketch created by Lori McClellan (I always look forward to her sketches because they are so creative and makes me think, which is a good thing).  Don't you just love it.
I once again used the fabulous kit Charlie sent me and even though it screamed "vintage" to me, knew I could still use it in a fun way.  If you recall in my last post, I did the left side of Lori's sketch using photos from the wedding day of Jim's parents, my parents and our wedding.
On my second page, I took pictures of our 3 wonderful kids and showed you the funny side to these three and yes, each one of them are goofy to the core.  I had so much fun doing this page - seeing how their goofiness change over the years not only made me laugh but brought tears to my eyes.  I was going to do younger photos of them, but after looking at the previous page, thought that since I did that already, needed to do recent photos of the kids.
Once I put all the wonderful little embellishments on there, I realized there was something missing.  I had made one flower in the left corner, but thought another one would put it all together and yep, it did.  I also went around the paper edges and distressed them to break up the black cardstock so it won't look so hard.
Here is the final page and a picture of both of them together.  I really had fun putting these together and love them because it represents not only the love of my family but the fun we have with our younger generation.
Instead of putting them in my album, they are sitting on the top of my bookshelf proudly being displayed.

Hope you have a wonderful day and head over to The Hen's Den and take a look at what Charlie offers in the store.
